WIN! Britain’s Wild Night Out

Save the date! Saturday, 30th June 2018 is the UK’s National Day of Adventure and we’re encouraging you to take part. Send us your snaps of your adventurers outdoors with the #mymillets on Facebook for a chance to win a mini Eurohike tent (they make perfect homes for pets!) - for more information and T&C's

Mini Tent

Wild Night Out is run by a team from a non-profit organisation, Explorers Connect, and championed by Ordnance Survey. At Millets we believe everyone should experience time outdoors and to celebrate this National Day of Adventure, we’re giving you the chance to win one of four mini-tents.

To get your ideas flowing here’s five inspiring ways you could spend your Wild Night (and day) outdoors.

Build a Den

Building a den in the woods is always a fun challenge for the whole family to get involved in. Hunting around the woods for the perfect branches and sticks to build with, making a structure that no gust of wind would knock down. Then once it’s made sit inside have a picnic and take in all the good work you’ve done.

Rope Swing

When going for walk and finding a rope swing you just can’t resist can you? You just need to have a go it’s just too much fun to ignore. But sometimes your never really sure how they get there. So how about making one yourself? Just find a good-sized tree that’s easy to climb, some braided rope and strong stick to swing from, tie it all together with a strong knot and hey presto! you have a rope swing.

Back Garden Camping

Camping in your back garden will never get old and is always a great warm-up for the kids before you step out into the great outdoors. You get to be close enough to home comforts but also have the experience of sleeping out in a tent and enjoy other camping activites like toasting marshmallow’s, yum yum!

Flower Jewellery

Flower jewellery is a fun and fashionable addition to your outdoor look. Next time your outside and the sun is shining, if there’s a plentiful amount of daisy’s or long grass then sit down, relax and enjoy the therapeutic process of creating some flower jewellery.

Wild Swimming

For those of you who are confident swimmers and adventure seekers, wild swimming is one of those ventures we have all thought about doing but only a few us have taken the plunge. A fantastic activity for family and friends on a hot summers day, step away from the hustle and bustle of the local pool and instead find a secluded spot and enjoy the feeling of swimming in fresh water with the company of nature. If we have peaked your interest head to our swimming category for all the kit you need to dive right in.
