HI-GEAR Whistling Kettle (1 Litre)

This kettle should not be on sale! Handle gets incredibly hot - impossible to handle without oven gloves unless you have asbestos hands! Impossible to pour boiling water from spout, it goes everywhere - perilous ... and the whistle doesn't work! This should NEVER be sold!!

It set the fire alarm on when it started smoking when nobody could hear the supposed whistle. It make a puddle when pouring water in the cup. Absolutely ridiculous and dangerous!

This kettle will do in a pinch but I wouldn't recommend it. It's hard to fill because you fill it through the spout, the handle gets really hot when the water has boiled and it leaks when pouring water out. The leaking was my biggest concern as no one likes boiling water dripping onto their foot!

There is no way to pour water out of this kettle without it going everywhere except into the cup. Useless.

Leaked like a large hole sieve from brand new. Gone in the bin.

Nice little kettle, fills approximately 3 mugs from one boil.

Did the job

Dinky kettle just right for a couple of drinks. Useful having spout fill; a fold down handle would add to its perfection but would obviously increase the price. Very happy with it. Thank you.

Kettle is dangerous, I have reported this to Millets, but apart from a courtecy reply, no further follow up. The handle is so close to the top of the kettle that without a great deal of care it's easy to get your fingers burnt if they touch the top surface. I have also reported that the shape of the kettle allows heat to come around from the base & over the top of the kettle, which then makes the handle very hot, thus requiring a cloth to pick the kettle up. A definite safety issue with absolutely no positive response from Millets.

Gas hob kettle is excellent. Good study design, lightweight aluminium compact kettle. The whistle is good and load. Would highly recommend if anyone is after a compact gas hob kettle

Good, love this kettle boils really quick

This isn't really fit for purpose in my opinion. It boils okay but when you want the water out, the steam really burns your hand. Also, if you have big hands (like myself and my husband) your fingers are too close to the scorching metal for comfort. Pathetic whistle too. I'm buying a low wattage electric kettle so waste of money.

kettle is a decent product for the price,but the whistle on boiling is very quiet and unless we sit with it i wonder how long it will be before forget and run it dry

Super little kettle for one person use

I have used this kettle for the first time and found that the water seeps out from the joint at the bottom when any water is left in it.
