Well made torch, with at least two settings (I think there are more but I haven't found them yet). The 500 lumens is all you would expect, but if you are looking for a gentler beam for when you need to "go" at night, it has that two. And you can go directly to the gentler beam. Keep in mind however that this is an inspection torch (for looking at nearby things), at this it excels - if that is what you want, then recommended.
