Award Winning Tent! The Coleman Cortes Octagon has won 2015 Tent Of The Year at the Camping Magazine Editor's Choice Awards!
Just about as versatile as a family tent can be - the Coleman Cortes Octagon is a single large room that can be used for luxury camping, family holidays, garden parties...the list goes on!
Large mesh windows all around give fantastic views, while the full-height external curtains and sewn in groundsheet offer full waterproof protection. You can even remove the flysheet entirely and just use the inner and poles to create a large insect-free space tht's ideal for hot, dry days.
The front door is hinged (like a proper door!) which makes getting in and out a lot easier than most tents, and the wheeled carry bag makes it easy to get from the car to your chosen pitch. A clever combination of design and practicality.

8 people tent. No

This tent is very cold. And too stuffy hot weather can not breath. If it begins to rain sudden windows all have to be shut from outside. Icould not fit a double mattress bed and 8 people like the picture shows it's more of a 4 people tent. It's stayed so far in the windy day. I am not very happy with it for the price.

Fantastic apart from the door porch / cowl collecting rain

I bought this tent this week and spent the night in it last night - its very simple to put up - just look at some of the u-tube videos. Its very roomy and seems to be well constructed. Its great to finally have a tent you can stand and walk around in. It absolutely chucked it down last night and there were no leaks whatsoever. My only issue is the design of the small porches located above each door. They tend to fill with water until they flex and you get a noisy gush of water run down the door - almost every few minutes - you get fixated listening for it to happen again.

Excellent

First tent and it hasn’t disappointed, very simple. You do need 2 adults to put up especially if windy. Love the windows, I recommend still putting a loose peg down to keep them flapping in the wind. It’s very much like the tardis, looks tiny but bigger inside, we got two double beds in, one on each side and a small metre walk way down the middle, the shape is a little awkward but you can store bags around the bed, nowhere in the middle to hang a light, only at the sides of the tent. No poles on show to utilise hanging anything etc but for a starter it’s a nice little tent

Tested in all weather

We have used our tent 3 times. We comfortably spent a week in the pouring rain last year with no problems. It was very windy but the tent felt very secure. It does get cooler at night, purely because it is one open space instead of smaller, lower bedrooms that hold in the heat. In the really hot weather it is possible to open all the windows so the tent remains cooler than a more traditional style tent. There is plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 children and being in one space it seems more sociable. The tent is really easy to put up as the poles just slot in. Really happy with it.

Tent doesn't stand up to blustery weather

Just be aware if you are buying this tent that the poles could fold as happened to me. I had pitched it in light wind, all the guys were out. Overnight the wind picked up a bit and the tent poles bent

Can't beat it for the price

Very solid, spacious, can be erected without the guy lines as it is very stable even without them.
Slightly cold though, wouldn't camp in colder months without sufficiently warm sleeping bags.

Wet tent

Why would anybody design a tent where you put the inner tent up first? If you have to pitch on a rainy day the entire inside the tent is soaking before you have even begun your holiday. Not a sensible idea especially if you have them children who are hoping for a dry camping holiday.

Pros and Cons

Erected in extremely windy conditions on my own. Stayed firm and dry. Love inside.
Wind blows under flysheet and through mesh windows. With few thoughtful adjustments this problem could be resolved.

Our new favourite family tent - wouldn't change a thing!

We are a family with 3 kids and big dog and have just been away for a (rainy) camping trip. It was easy to erect, spacious, completely water and bug proof and a brilliant and very attractive design.

Buyer Beware

This is a great garden gazebo or sleeping pod for summer nights but as a tent for the British weather it is cold, noisy and poorly thought-out; build quality is poor so best avoided by most buyers.
