Phillips/crosspoint screwdriver essential
This is a nice little head torch, for the price. It has three settings: two white LEDs on, four white LEDs on, or two red LEDs on. The angle of the torch unit is also adjustable, depending on whether you want it pointing straight ahead, or slightly down. You change the setting by pressing the on/off button.
The main disadvantage is that changing the batteries requires a crosspoint/Phillips screwdriver to undo the four tiny screws. If you carry such a tool (plus something to put the screws in so you don't lose them), you'll be fine. Otherwise, eat more carrots.

As a surgeon, I consider myself to have good manual dexterity. When opening the casing to change the batteries, the coiled wire battery terminals are spring loaded and sit in slots and spring out with great ease. This springing out of the battery terminals makes insertion of new batteries a frustrating challenge. I have taken apart a phone to replace the charging socket which was much easier. Terrible design. The previous review saying it falls apart is not accurate. Actually it springs apart.
