The standard gives visibility in the supply chain all the way back to the hatching farms, and guarantees that the ducks and geese are healthy, well-treated and safe from inhumane practices like live plucking and force-feeding.
As well as the farms and down processing factories, being audited to the RDS standard, the brand's sleeping bag factories are also audited to ensure that all the RDS down bought goes into Berghaus down sleeping bags and makes it into your hands. Only then can the products wear the RDS label guaranteeing that 100% of the down in your sleeping bag is RDS certified.
