Incredibly comfortable boot but they are zero waterproof.
Have bought 4 No. pairs of light weight boots in the past four years. Can now remember returning Peter Storm boots previously, they're always a size smaller than equivalent manufacturers. Had these dropped off 5pm tonight, it was apparent immediately that they're smaller and tighter than other manufacturers (Nb. Had another brand new, unused pair from elsewhere to compare them with). Styling & construction ok, but nothing extra-ordinary
Purchased the Eskdale II as an upgrade to my Eskdale. Like their predecessors they are very comfortable and don’t need any Breaking In. The Eskdale II are a lot more Waterproof than the older ones. Confident to walk through deep puddles whilst keeping feet dry. Excellent grip as well. Will definitely purchase again
I wore the Peter Storm Arnside boots for several years and was pretty happy with them for the price. When they were updated, the quality dropped, so I tried the Eskdale boot. They are barely splashproof, let alone waterproof. After 6 weeks, the laces broke on the very sharp eyelets (also a problem with the new Arnsides) and after just 2 months, one of the eyelets ripped out.
The quality of the Peter Storm boots is now so poor that I shall not be buying the brand again. I buy at least 2 pairs of boots a year and put on some 3000 miles a year. I need something far better than these.
