Not waterproof - please be aware

I bought these boots...
I bought these boots in Millet's sale for £60. I had to order 2 sizes larger than my usual shoe size or my big toe stubbed the front. I like to wear thick socks. The size 8s look rather ungainly but feel very comfortable, instantly wearable. My feet are protected, supported and dry. Not pretty but ok. I'm vegan so went for these.

Have worn these boot twice, both times in the rain. They are certainly not waterproof. Very disappointed as they are described as ‘waterproof’ and I bought them specifically because of this feature. How useful is a walking boot that lets in the rain? Does ‘Mid’ waterproof in the title mean that they are only partly waterproof- ridiculous!
