Had the old bobcat for many years, very happy with it, but seams were pealing. Bought this one to replace it but the geometry is wrong, the back saggs so the fly is often in contact with the inner, very disappointing. Interior space has also been sacrificed for the porch. Fabric zip handles tend to get caught and the clips for the inner are weaker. Wishing Id repaired my old one instead.
Have used this tent a few times now. The size for me is just right. As I am quite short. Only issue I have was the pole had bent when trying to insert in the holes. Very tight.
Used in Lakes and Pennines in wind and rain no problem great price of 59 pound easy to pitch can use walking pole to take sag out of fly but v good tent
A cheap tent that can compete against tents that costs £100s.
This tent is an amazing bargain which can be used as a 4 season tent.
Ideal starter tent which you probably wouldn't ever need to update.
Packs down smaller also once you remove poles from bag
I've multiple tents and tried the Phoxx I and II before deciding that this was the tent for me.
1) Lightweight, happy with the weight as it was just me, compared to my 3kg alternative tent. The UL version is even lighter though, just more expensive.
2) Im 5'6" so did not have an issue with the dimensions, lying down or sitting/using the porch.
3) the outer can sag against the inner BUT if you take you time to pitch right and look at some hacks on youtube, you can see how you can over come this.
4) groundsheet did NOT allow any moisture through, very impressed.
5) no issues with condensation.
