does the job

We got this for my mum as she wanted to be comfortable. She suffers from all sorts of aches and pains and worried that she wouldn't be comfortable but she was happy with it for the four nights we used it for camping. This is coming from the woman who hates spending a night away from her bed so that is saying something.

She said long term she would probably prefer something thicker but I think that's because she wants it to be as close as possible in comfort to her mattress at home! otherwise I think it was a great buy!

To self-inflate, it's the case of switching a cap. Very simple!

No really what it says on the tin. It is supposed to be a self-inflatable mat and seem to need a person to press the valve slightly for it to take air in or out (as you'd do with an inflatable swimming ring). Also, one has to pop the cap in and out, which does not seem long lasting in my book, it should have to be screwed in, which is I believe the case in the double version of this mat
