Two different boots with...

Two different boots with defects and minimal use.

Poor Quality

Had a pair of these boots for a year now. In that time they have eaten 5 pairs of laces; split on the 'toe' seams (as described by other reviews) and therefore leak water; worn through the outer sole on all the raised lugs (which are hollow by the way); and now the outer sole has come away and flaps about. My experience with them is very disappointing and I wouldn't recommend them.

Really Comfortable Boots

Got these boots in the sale and was worried after reading the review.
I've worn them 3 times so far, twice to walk i to town and a short hike.
They are really comfortable and lovely to walk in so I recommend them 100%.
Stay safe gang.

failed in same place again !!

As mentioned in other reviews these boots have a major flaw. On my 2nd pair now and both pairs failed in the stitching just behind the big toe. It seems an obvious design fault.
also laces soon fray as well.

No good

These boots look good very comfortable just one problem I’m on my seventh pair in as many months and now they need replacing the stitching near the big toe gives way the staff at millets in hastings are brilliant no quibble guarantee I walk three hundred miles a month I know the saying you get what you pay for but I’m ready for my next pair

Disapointed they have failed so soon

Had these for just over 6 months. Use them for dog walk and cover on about 5 miles a day in woodland and fields. Took about four weeks to get comfortable the leather is hard when new but using Dubin got them supple and helped with the waterproofing. The waterproofing was good. In the last month the stitched seem on the inside area where the bend for the toe on one boot has broken down and the seam has opened, the leather is starting to crack where the boots bend and the heels are wearing. The heel is not solid and there are holes in the bottom of the boot. Disappointed they have broken down.

My son has tried the walking boots on a short assistance and they appear to be OK although he has advised that he is somewhat frustrated with the short laces that come with the boots - as they are a high boot then after lacing up there is very little opportunity to tie into a bow with the amount of lace that is left. He has found that he has to resort to reducing the amount of lacing and therefore the boot is not fitted quit rightly around his whole ankle.

Doing the 20 day fit review.

So here we go,
The Millets staff at the Huddersfield store were fantastic, I was told I have a 20 day home fit trial as long as I don't wear them outside, I'm a size 10.5 but always buy 11 for added thickness for good socks.
I have never bought Peter Storm boots before but the sole grip on these boots led to this purchase, I usually buy Salomon but I've noticed that the sole grip is getting smaller. We walk well over 1500 miles a year with our dog & a pair of boots usually last a year, this year it's been muddy as hell so let's give a pair of £55 boots a go & see what happens.

Shockingly poor, won't be buying Peter Storm again.

Bought in the second week in May, it's now July 5th and the boots have split down the seam near the toe. I'm already on my second set of laces due to excessive fraying, I like my boots snug, they are very comfortable but the quality is disappointing. I shall be buying a replacement before my next excursion, just better quality.
