Good weight and thermal rating ratio

The weight and thermal rating are excellent for the price. The sleeping bag is quite warm. However it is missing the insulating collar (at shoulder area), which would keep the cold coming through the head opening out. Not a big issue in warmer conditions above 5 or 6 degrees.

The problem is the quality though. You can just see that the details are done to a bad standard. Used only 5 times and the seams are already ripping. Also the hood drawstring broke. I had to return it and choose a different sleeping bag.

Disappointed with Berghaus. Could be an excellent bag.

Brilliant Alternative to a Down Bag

My son and I both go bicycle camping and were looking for warm, but small sleeping bags. As my son is allergic to Down and I am vegetarian, we wanted synthetic bags.
The Berghaus Intrepid 1000 bags have proved to be fantastic. They pack down small enough to fit into our seat post harnesses and are very warm. We have used them on chilly nights in Spring in the Lakes, Scout Camps in the wind and rain and we have both stayed warm and cosy even when the temperature dipped to about 2 degrees C..
This is a perfect alternative to a down filled bag for warmth and packed size.
