As one of the leading outdoor retailers, it is essential for us to stay up to date with what is happening in the outdoor industry, finding out what new products are coming in and whether any brands are starting a new campaign. So what better place to find out what is happening by visiting the Outdoor Trade Show, here is just a few things that got us excited at our visit to OTS 2019.

Petzl Lit Up The Room

Petzl has gone above and beyond by upgrading everything in their headlamp range by 100 lumens without any changes in prices and have also introduced a new headlamp called the 'Swift RL', combining the great qualities of the Actik Core and the Nao. Boasting a massive 900 lumens, you will have clear vision whilst the reactive lighting makes sure the battery life is saved with 100hrs burn time. Petzl has also created a new head strap that is comfortable wear and now is perfect for trail runners who will be descending at speed. It also minimises bounce.

Sustainable Shoes

This year adidas has increased their collaboration work with Parley on more of their trail running/hiking shoes and boots, having the footwear made from recovered ocean fabric and other recycled materials. Sustainability has been a big topic of discussion this year and it's great to see some of the big brands getting involved to back this message and work on helping clean the ocean.

No More Nasty Chemicals

Speaking to Nikwax on the topic of sustainability and harmful chemicals, they are currently in the process of making their bottles from recycled plastics, for which they are currently at 85% and by 2020 will have all their product packaging made from 100% recycled material, whilst the Nikwax formula is made from PFC-Free chemicals. And they are currently the only outdoor company to have completely offset its C02 emissions with its 40+ years of operations!

A Pack With a Punch

For AW19, Osprey has expanded upon their transporter travel series with 3 brand new commuter packs. Using the robust fabric from their current holdalls, these daysacks will stand up to be able to deal with everything you could put them through. They are also utilising Osprey's breathable back system to prevent moisture build up, which should make cycling much more comfortable, Internal storage pockets will make carrying your laptop and other essentials easier than ever before.
