Don’t know what the issue is with some Berghaus products but a few tops/coats I’ve bought from them have sleeves as if they expected an orangutan to be wearing them...
Decent coat but can’t wear it as it genuinely makes me look like a double amputee.

Not waterproof
Good looking lightweight jacket keeps out the wind. Had a 2hour walk in the rain fully zipped up and the jacket let in water and i was wet through when i got back home. The pockets filled with water also. Had waterproof pants on and my legs were dry as a bone. Certainly NOT waterproof.
Good but not waterproof
Took the first one back as after rain the inner jacket was wet. Exchanged by the nice people at Millets. The second jacket is the same - doesn't tolerate rain i.e. is NOT waterproof. One could have been a freak of production methods, but two?
Don't get me wrong it's a great SHOWERPROOF lightweight windproof jacket - but don't expect to stay dry if you are out for a while in the rain.

Already had plenty of "boil in the bag" waterproof jackets but was attracted to the breathability claims made by Berghaus about its Hydroshell fabric, which is repeated again on the tags that come with the jacket. Wore it for the first time yesterday after visiting the gym. Wasn't a particularly sweaty session and it didn't rain either there or back. However when I took the jacket off, the inside was coated with sweat which I could swipe away with my finger and flick into the sink. Haven't tested the waterproofness, but wonder if this is what other reviewers on here are really experiencing?
