Key featuresexpand_more

Its geometry is more relaxed than a road bike. It features a slacker head angle and a sloped top tube. The geometry handles the roughness of the trail and offers plenty of cockpit space and standover height for its rider to move the bike around when riding trails.

The Dark Peak is built with a strong hydroformed Aluminium 6061 alloy frame, and it has a carbon fibre fork to reduce weight and suck-up trail vibrations. It is equipped with a Shimano Claris 16 speed drivetrain and Clarks CMD-22 mechanical disc brakes. Both are controlled by Shimano STR2000 shifters which provide an integrated brake and gear lever system, keeping the dropped gravel handlebar clean and tidy.

The finishing touch is a pair of WTB Riddler tyres, which are fast on paved surfaces and offer plenty of grip on loose and cambered trail surfaces. Fatter than skinny little road bike tyres, they add much needed shock absorbency to this trail ripping hybrid.

A nice bike, but workshop issues that won't be solved
2 out of 5

Enjoyed the bike for the first few days until the bottom bracket started wobbling around. The customer service options are return the entire bike or make the trip to one of their shops. The cost of getting to a store will be the same as me fixing elsewhere, so ultimately I'm out of pocket on this purchase.

I do like the bike, just let down by the customer service aspect. Would happily arrange for a refund on repair costs or Millets credit as compensation but that's a no apparently. Will avoid online bike purchases in future.
