Excellent in rain when...
Excellent in rain when walking the dogs and I use them for showering my residents in the Nursing Home to keep my uniform dry.

Can’t vouch for how waterproof they are yet as not had to use them in real anger!
Very generous fitting, I sized up but needn’t have done.
Lightweight and they pack to nothing and have a tiny storage pouch.

I am not a...
I am not a regular all-weather hiker, but when joining a group hike up Ben Nevis in October, I needed to get some waterproof trousers. These ones seemed to fit the bill in terms of size and price and packability. I usually wear a 14, and so bought a 14 and they fit well, if maybe a little long in the leg for me. The elastic waist is handy for pulling on quickly when it starts to rain, and they have open pockets so you can reach in to your trouser pockets underneath.
They pack away into a bag smaller than the average soft drink can, and although light in weight, were able to keep off the worst of the weather on top of the mountain (horizontal snow and -10C) as well as on the descent (3 hours of solid rain). I hope I never have need of them again, but if I am caught out in the rain while hiking, I'll be glad to have them with me.

It's had a pocket...
It's had a pocket hole but it doesn't pocket.My daughter will use it for canoeing,the water will get in easily from the pocket hole, so I made pocket before DofE.

Only time will tell if the new material will be as effective and long lasting. My main gripe is that they are about 7cm longer than the last pair I bought around 5 years ago and drag on the ground. Luckily I normally walk in wellies and can tuck them inside.
