Pros
- Good value
- Lightweight
- Packs small compresses
- Uber warm
Cons
- Bunching insulation
Best Uses
Don't normally write reviews, but just felt this sleeping bag deserves a thumbs up:This is a great value bag for the £[$]I think I paid when I bought it in late 2011.I've found it keeps me warm down to -5C in nothing but boxers and -10C with more thermal clothing(this is the limit for me though as I would always want to steer clear of the minimum comfortable temperature when fully layered up), which is pretty impressive for something so light that packs so small!!!Only remotely negative thing I can say is that I don't think the bag keeps the insulation homogeneously spread out perfectly by itself and so it helps to fluff the bag before use nightly. This is hardly a major problem though and once done you know you'll get a good nights sleep so long as you keep it dry!In summary, great value 3/4 season sleeping bag - to improve on it, I'm guessing you'd have to spend at least twice the amount, probably more!
I used this sleeping bag for five weeks trekking and climbing in the Himalayas. Its perfect for compressing down and lightweight whilst carrying. Camping at 5000m, snow falling around the temperature was well into the minus numbers. As long as you sleep in a down sleeping bag the way you should (where less clothes is more heat) this sleeping bag keeps you toasty warm. It is definitely an underestimated sleeping bag, cheap, lightweight and warm. Exactly what you need.
Pros
- Affordable
- Warm comfy
- Weight to pack ratio
Cons
- Feathers stick to pj's
Best Uses
- All methods of camping
i found the slleping bag great value for money. i took it on my ML assessment last april (2010)in the Scottish Highlands. The wild camping was done above the snow line where temperatures got down well below freezing. the other people on the assessment had the Rab and north face kit and were cold. I was the only one warm.
For a three day experdition where you have to carry everything i can not complain brilliant weight to warmth ratio.
The only problem i found was trying to get out on a morning as it required a lot of patients to get the zip down so i could move freely.
Pros
- 1200g
- Lofts well
- Quite warm
Cons
- Filling can separate
- Filling is not held well
- Not really a 4 season bag
- U get wot u pay 4
- Woke up cold in may UK
Best Uses
- Summer or with liner
bought for lightweight cycle touring. Couldn't really afford a RAB but now regret not saving up for one as this bag only just kept me warm on a mild trip to wales at the beginning of may 2011.
It does loft quite well but if you want something a bit more serious, pay the money and get something lighter and with better thermal efficiency. If you like bag liners (and i don't) then maybe you could boost the bags efficiency with a silk liner.

Q:
Can you confirm this is a genuine 4 season sleeping bag that would be appropriate to take to Everest Base Camp in April (it appears to be very cheap for 4 season).
Can you confirm the lowest comfort temperature (only PJs on) and the lowest extreme temp (fully clothed).
Would you also require an inner sleeping bag?
Please also confirm dimensions (open & compressed) and weight.Asked on 25/10/2011 by Anonymous1 answer
