Men's RG1 Jacket
Product code 041357
The Berghaus RG1 Jacket is a versatile jacket you can wear anywhere, with a hardwearing waterproof, windproof and breathable nylon rip-stop outer layer.
The Berghaus RG1 Jacket has a DWR (Durable Water Repellent Treatment) applied to the fabric which is made from Berghaus’ own Aqua-Foil technical material. The inner also has a mesh drop lining to help with breathability and moisture movement.
With a hood large enough to fit a hat/helmet, the Berghaus RG1 Jacket is ideal for climbing, walking or running and it will roll away neatly into the collar when not required.
The reliable YKK front zip is protected by a double storm flap, only found on high specification hill-walking jackets, to keep the weather away from your undergarments.
A drawcord hem allows you to be totally protected from the elements. The Berghaus RG1 Jacket is a classic hill-walking jacket, great for any outdoors fun.

I paid [$] for this jacket on this site during the summer (2011) and have yet to see it again anywhere for that price. I must of been lucky! Excellent value for money. Lightweight, waterproof and windproof. I have worn this jacket out on Dartmoor on half a dozen occassions in the last 4 months or so to see what the great british weather could throw at it and was very happy with its performance in howling wind and pouring rain. The jacket isn't insulated but a couple of good base layers and this item was perfect for (me) for the 5/8 mile hikes i took across Dartmoor from August to November. For colder weather i would use an insulated version.

The RG1 is OK, but it does have a couple of key drawbacks IMO. First, there aren't enough pockets. There are two hand pockets and that's it. The jacket would be considerably more useful with a map pocket, or at least a small inside breast pocket. Second, the pockets do not have a warming lining. Overall, I think that this jacket is OK, but it's pretty expensive for OK.
