This high-performance range of environmentally friendly clothing, wind-up walking accessories and camping gear by Peter Storm and Eurohike utilises alternative fabrics from sustainable sources, innovative methods of dying, and even considers the smallest details, like materials used to produce the buttons and labels. In addition all the packaging is made from recycled material and uses vegetable dye to print.

Recycled Plastic Bottles

As landfills are reach maximum capacity, new and innovative ways are urgently required to combat the increasing problem of excessive waste. Peter Storm's One Earth range of clothing utilises fibres made from recycled plastic bottles, which is then woven into fabric.

The range of One Earth fleeces from Peter Storm uses 30% recycled plastic bottle fibre and provides maximum warmth and comfort. The fleeces are thermally efficient, anti-pilling and feature unbleached cotton care labels. The One Earth trousers contain 40% recycled plastic bottle fibre and sport a coconut shell button. The hard-wearing fabric features Ripstop technology to prevent snags from tearing, plus it is quick drying, wicking and is suitable for all outdoor pursuits.

INGEO™

The One Earth range of short-sleeved T-shirts are made entirely from INGEO™; a renewable source. The check shirts are mixed with organic cotton, produced without the use of pesticides, making them 57% organic cotton and 43% INGEO™. Comfortable and practical, the range has performance features such as wicking and hypoallergenic properties. In addition, INGEO™ is compostable, so when you do throw it away the clothing won’t spend years in the landfill.

Solution Dyed

The One Earth range not only considers the material used in the clothing, but also the processes with which the fabric is manufactured. Solution dying requires less water. The dye is added at the plastic stage (when the fibre is being formed) rather than dying the fabric itself therefore producing less effluents. In addition, less steam is required which saves a vast amount of energy.

Peter Storm have used this process in the development of the stylish and high performance Men’s Warrior and Women’s Nightshade jackets. Waterproof and breathable, these versatile Stormtech jackets feature roll-away hoods, mesh upper body lining, stormflap and are perfect for everyday use, rambling and climbing.

Bamboo

Bamboo is an incredibly fast growing renewable resource of which, Peter Storm have utilised the naturally anti-microbial properties of Bamboo fibre to create a fantastic range of One Earth performance socks. They are made of 76% Bamboo and 24% Coolmax®. The Coolmax® element has excellent moisture management properties keeping your feet comfortable and dry.

Free Energy

There is no need for batteries with the Eurohike Wind-Up range as they work through the power of winding. Easy to use and pollution free, the range includes The Wind-Up Torch and Wind-Up Head Torch.

Organic Fibre

The One Earth Dome Tent from Eurohike is made using an organic cotton blend that is produced from a renewable source without using pesticides. The cotton is compostable, and while the nylon takes longer to degrade, it is far better than a 100% synthetic fibre. The One Earth Sleeping Bag is made from recycled plastic bottles, similar to the clothing range.
