Mountainsmith call this a modular hauler system: it comprises an outer bag (the hauler) with a selection of inner bags to pack your gear for a weekend camping adventure. You wouldn’t use it as a regular backpack but the stowaway shoulder straps are a great way to carry it for a short distance from your vehicle. The hauler has a zipped lid, a folding internal structure to provide freestanding support, reinforced side-access haul handles, reinforced padded haul handles, a front flat pocket, compression straps to keep equipment secure and tie down loops to keep the hauler secure in your vehicle. The colour-coded inner cubes include a slim long cube for a sleeping pad or tent; two ¼ cubes for cooking equipment and small camping essentials; and a full size horizontal cube designed for sleeping bags, outerwear apparel, climbing rope etc. The hauler is made in 1680D ballistic nylon and the inner cubes are 150D ripstop nylon. The overall size is 38 x 89 x 38cm (123 litres) and it weighs 1.5kg.
