Developed with a GORE-TEX® upper, the Hillwalker's are fully weatherproofed, keeping your feet well ventilated, dry and comfy. A shock absorbing midsole prevents any sprains or knocks from being picked up while moving quickly over uncertain ground. The rubber sole unit has been developed to give better traction and a safer planting of the foot as you go. The Hillwalker II's leather grain finish is strong, durable and ensures that the boots will last journey after journey.

Great boot but did not last a year
Very comfortable nice boot however despite cleaning and looking after regularly it is now leaking after 9 months. Break in leather where your foot bends at toe joints

good sturdy boots - worthwhile depends on the terrain. like all boots weight is a factor.
these are comfortable and keep your feet warm have been wearing them in winter months.
need some time though to break in

So far a great pair of boots.
The fit is tighter than my last pair of walking boots, but looser than a pair of normal shoes. Wearing thin inner socks and wool outer socks is very tight, but two pairs of thinner socks or one pair of thick socks is comfortable.
So far they have not shown any signs of leaks, but the leather has soaked up moisture from the wet grass. When I remember, I will give them a clean and a dose of dubbing.

Leaking Boots
I have the sister boot to these the Fellwalker. The upper split after about four years but it is not just a cosmetic issue because the waterproof membrane has been damaged and they leak. Prior to these Boots I had a pair of Brashers they were leather and they also cracked but it was after 25 years and the Goretex membrane did not leak. The problem with the Nubuck case is that the cleaning and waterproofing systems do not work and no guidance is given on how to look after them. It seems that the change of ownership of Brasher/Berghaus has led to an inferior product.
Best Boot you can buy
I've walked 6 countries in these boots and never had a blister, they still haven't split after 5 years.
Well worth the investment.
